You may know how it works. Someone announces at a faculty meeting that an alumni needs some technical assistance. No one else volunteers, so you say "Sure, I'll be happy to talk to the alumni. Turns out that the alumni was David Baldacci who wanted to learn some of the more technical details on the various ways that e-mail can bounce around the internet. David was very gracious to acknowledge my assistance in Total Control (which is a terrific book). Aside from a terrifically fun interaction with a very nice and interesting author, I have now signed more copies of Total Control than I have signed copies of my own books. Ahh - the price of fame. Thank you David!
