Ranging from a semester or two in Dubai or Belfast, there are a number different opportunities available to qualified applicants as the positions become available - while the job market hasn't been terrific lately things are looking up. Unfortunately, most of the opportunities below are occuped and turnover has been slow in this economy but occasionally something will open up. If you are interested, please make an appointment to come and discuss your situation with me.
Learn and Earn
Periodically the Institute for Data Research sponsors a Learn and Earn Opportunities event. These events link students with prospective sources of research opportunities and often employment as well. These events are great places to learn about possible programs of study and potential opportunities available to information system program participants whether entry level or full time specialized employment. (Details of the next event scheduled for Wednesday, February 21st, 2001 from 3-6 PM.)
Deutsche Bank Interns
Spend a semester as a paid intern in New York City working for the largest financial institution in the world on a multi-million dollar systems reengineering project and earn up to 6 graduate or undergraduate credits toward your VCU education.
Research Consultants
In conjunction with the Institute for Data Research, VCU's School of Business periodically offers student research consultant and intern positions paying from $15 to $35/hour.
Assistantships
The Institute for Data Research is now accepting applications for four graduate assistantships for the 1999-2000 academic year - the application deadline is 9/7/99.
