Images of Me

Over the years, various artists have taken pictures, made sketches, or otherwise captured aspects of my life. I've tried to give credit here for a number of them - laugh with me at the following times of my life:

• Mom wrote, "Peter Levittown 10/59" on the back of this picture - please do not notice the pacifier
• 1962 - obviously, my love of horses goes way back but I'm not sure I was really only 3 and a half (Mom the photo says Brice Mountain July 1962)
• 1969 - with my uncle "Rob" examining some early computer programs
• 1975 - with Whiskey Creek
• 1977 - high school year book

• 1985 - artist unknown initials RBS - me playing chess while making up my mind whether to go enter George Mason's doctoral program or join a local flying club (I passed on the flying club opportunity).

• 1987 - My first passport photo

• 1989 - must have been right before I cut off my long hair - again artist unknown initials TC - probably finishing up a chapter in my dissertation.

• 1989 - with my colleagues Shari Lawrence Pfleeger, Dolly Samson, Yi Quing Liang in a lab at GMU.

• 1989 - ID photo for the Price Club

• 1991 - this one was done by a caricature artist named Jon on Honolulu on my way back from Guam (I made five visits between 1989 and 1993 to work with the University).

• 1995 - Jasmine Jaslow took this picture while we were hiking in Utah.

• 1996 - Charlotte took this splendid shot of Norman and I singing at June Jubilee as part of Dog's New Clothes.

• 1997 - Doug Stewart did a nice Simpson-flavored caricature of me (as well as the version on this page) while he was in the Information Systems program at VCU. As you can see Doug does caricatures of all of his instructors and several that he hasn't yet had. (All caricatures are reproduced with the consent of the artist and the subject and in case you are wondering.)

• 1997 - Jasmine took this 'formal' photo of me for inclusion in my Data Reverse Engineering course brochure that prepared for Barnett Data Systems/Pinnacle Systems Group.

• 1999 - Right before my 40th birthday against the magnolia tree in the back yard!

• August 2001 congratulating newly minted Dr. Brian Ashford

• October 2001 - Back from several London trips with a new carricature and a computer generated sketch.

• Presenting an XML lecture at ER 2001 in Yokohama, Japan

• Touring the great pyramids in Egypt during the Summer of 2004. Great picture framed and taken by Yasar Ozcan as part of our EMBAinCairo project.
