Unfortunately this opportunity is not currently available but others may be through Data Blueprint.
Deutsche Bank's Global Settlement Technologies Group (GSTG) has established a long term relationship with the School of Business and Department of Information Systems to participate in information technology architecture development initiatives. The primary beneficiaries are you - our customers - the students! GSTG desires to employ several VCU IS and MBA students as interns in capacities supporting data architecture development, requirements management, and software systems reengineering. The internships correspond roughly to semester boundaries (including the summer semester). This is an excellent opportunity to obtain real-world experience with the world's largest financial institution as part of your VCU education.
Interns work at the GSTG located in midtown Manhattan (literally across 6th Avenue from Radio City Music Hall). The GSTG is responsible for development of worldwide Deutsche Bank back office trading systems. Interns are paid $25/hour for a 40 hour week and offered corporate sponsored housing options. These internship opportunities offer:
- up to 6 credit hours of field project (INFO 493 or INFO 693) toward your graduate or undergraduate degree program at VCU;
- opportunities to work with the world's largest financial institution on large information technology development projects; and
- potential full-time employment with GSTG upon completion of your degree.
Liz Rodriguez was the first on-site intern. E-mail her to find out more about her experiences.
Other part-time opportunities are available to participate on projects in Richmond while completing VCU course work. If you are interested in learning more - particularly about Spring 2001 intern positions - please contact Peter Aiken via e-mail at: paiken@acm.org or leave a message at 804.828.0174. It isn't too soon to start planning for these opportunities and there is room to negotiate some details so please let me hear from you if you have any interest.
This is a Quicktime movie of the 6th Avenue GSTG location - if you have a quicktime plug-in you can view the scene in virtual reality panorama by clicking with your mouse and using the zoom in and out controls.
