BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP RULES ANALYSIS

A business rule that identifies and defines the association between two or more entities. The rule should identify from each entity’s perspective whether the relationship is mandatory or optional and in what ratio or cardinality. On the diagram the relationship is represented as a line. At the end of the line, the open circle represents an optional relationship, the closed circle represents a mandatory relationship; the arrowhead indicates maximum cardinality.
