The IS architecture attempts to achieve a set of highly interrelated goals. The chief goal is likely to serve the organizations information needs at all levels, now and in the future, requiring the combination of an IS architecture structure and an IS strategy. In doing so, subgoals include the management of the organization's data resources, providing the needed information to the IS users in the organization in a timely manner, the integration of organizational processes and problems with information technology solutions, and the preparation of the organization's information systems for future information needs and changing information technologies.
