Enterprise Architecture Data Model Methodology

The Enterprise Architecture model was created using a data reverse engineering methodology. Data reverse engineering seeks to create various levels of validated data and process models that represent what is implemented today and the business data requirements currently satisfied by a system. In support of our methodology, the first step was the development of an Enterprise Architecture model for dbtrader to examine, document, analyze and understand dbtrader at the very high-level, i.e., enterprise or system wide level.

The model was enhanced and validated by the business analysts and application developers for each business subject area. Future enhancements to the model will be captured and documented by the data architecture team in-collaboration with the application development teams.

All model information captured by the Data Architecture team during analysis is being stored in the Cayenne GroundWorks CASE tool.
